The Old Rectory
The interior design of a period property – A beautiful eclectic re-design.
Summary:
The brief
To create an eclectic collection of spaces but with a modern and exiting twist that enhances the beautiful existing period features. Our client works within the fashion industry but previously has a background within the music industry. This is a busy family home and we wanted to show their fun and creative personalities without losing the family vibe and the practicalities of day-to-day living.
Realisation
We made use of mood boards and floor plans to show our client our ideas and inspiration which helped to agree the scheme. Remedial work was identified and carried out in each space, which included the reinstatement of the panelling in both the dining and games rooms. The hallway (originally painted in a dark red) was pared back to a monochromatic scheme, a marble-topped console table was commissioned to sit on top of the radiator, and cast iron metal radiators were chosen to replace the modern standard radiators. Finally, classic pieces of furniture were selected together with the addition of interesting and unusual pieces, helped create stunning and interesting schemes / rooms.
