Complete re-design of a large 6000 sq. ft. family home
To transform this large and impressive house, designed by Albert Richardson in 1923, into a truly beautiful and comfortable family home. Our client’s wish was to keep the existing period features and enhance them with new modern additions, beautifully curated schemes, artwork and furniture. London based architect firm Casson Condor designed a stunning contemporary extension to the property which sympathetically joins the new with the old.
We worked closely with the client, in partnership with the architects and local building firm, Artisan, for two years to realise this truly stunning home, that is not only beautiful but functional.
The build and renovations were extensive and required the entire interior to be stripped and gutted before work could begin. Having done this, work commenced to install state of the art technological solutions for heating, lighting, security and sound. A new kitchen was designed and installed along with a new architecturally designed glass extension and walkway, which seamlessly connects the original house to the new. We created harmonious and interesting room schemes, selected flooring, fixtures and fittings for every room. Furniture (including a beautiful 14 seat oak dining table designed and made by Chris Cooke), artwork, accessories and soft furnishings were carefully curated to ensure the seamless and harmonious integration between the original house and the new extension.
“It has been the most amazing 12 months working with the very talented Alex Wilson on the interior design of our lovely home. The two year project became so much easier once Joffy (Artisan Bespoke Builders) introduced us to Alex. So many decisions to make and with Alex’s expertise and guidance we all thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Thank you to the whole team, all the hard work paid off, our home looks fabulous. We also had a lot of fun in the process!”
